How do I choose the right rug size for my room?
As a general rule, ensure the rug is large enough for the front legs of all major furniture pieces to rest on it. For dining rooms, the rug should extend at least 24 inches beyond the table on all sides to allow chairs to remain on the rug when pulled out.
What is your return policy for area rugs?
We offer a 30-day return policy on most items. Rugs must be in original, unused condition. Please note that custom-sized rugs and final sale items are not eligible for return.
How much does shipping cost within the United States?
Rugs Direct offers free standard shipping on all orders over $49 within the contiguous United States. For orders under $49, a flat-rate shipping fee of $9.95 applies.
How should I clean and maintain my new rug?
We recommend vacuuming regularly without a beater bar to prevent fiber damage. For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. For deep cleaning, we suggest professional rug cleaning every 12-18 months depending on foot traffic.
Do I really need a rug pad?
Yes, we highly recommend a rug pad for all surfaces. It prevents slipping, provides extra cushioning, protects your flooring from scratches, and extends the life of your rug by reducing friction.
What should I do if my rug arrives with creases?
Creasing is common due to rolling for shipping. Most creases will disappear within 1-2 weeks if laid flat. You can speed up the process by back-rolling the rug in the opposite direction or placing heavy furniture on the affected areas.
